Climate change adds a new complexity to water and food insecurity, human mobility and settlement by exacerbating environmental degradation, and acting as a threat multiplier across already stressed natural resource base. Thee environmental deterioration impacts the social capital and livelihoods of many affected people, particularly the most vulnerable. The interlinkages between increased climate variability, water and livelihood insecurity, population growth and mobility, employment, political and geo-strategic challenges are complex and inter-related.
